MMA personality and podcasting legend Joe Rogan recently had fellow comedian Sam Tallent on his popular podcast, Joe Rogan Experience. Typical of when stand-up comics appear as guests in Rogan's show, things can go off the rails pretty quickly.
Speaking of things going crazy, Rogan and Tallent started the podcast on a rather extreme note by sniffing smelling salts, also known as ammonia inhalants. The substance is typically used to wake up unconscious people or on numerous occasions, rile up athletes before a contest.
But Rogan and Tallent were not in an athletic competition - they were about to do a podcast. This is one of the reasons why Rogan's online talk show is so popular.

The smelling salts incident started when Rogan accidentally rubbed his eyes with hot sauce, saying:
"I was eating something with ghost peppers today and I forgot I had it on my hand and I just wiped my eye."
Quick as a whip, Sam Tallent hilariously replied with:
"At least you didn't touch your d**k."
After which Joe Rogan's producer and all-around tech guy, Jamie Vernon (aka Young Jamie), tossed him an eye dropper. While the famous podcaster was treating his eye, Tallent mentioned sniffing smelling salts in Paul Provenza's The Green Room show. This gave Rogan the idea of sniffing some with his guest.
The two instantly felt the full effect of the strong substance. Needless to say, the outcome was hilarious.
Young Jamie even said to Joe Rogan:
"Definitely gonna forget about your eyes."

Joe Rogan also had comedians Ari Shaffir, Shane Gillis, and Mark Normand sniff smelling salts
It seems smelling salts are a thing in Joe Rogan Experience as he had previous guests, mostly fellow stand-up comedians, sniff the substance in the show. One of the funniest times he had his guests do it was in episode No.1 764, with the presence of comics like Ari Shaffir, Shane Gillis, and Mark Normand.
The three had never smelled smelling salts before and were quite confident they can handle it. The interactions were top-notch funny with Normand saying:
"My ex had a real [stinky], tangy vag. I bet I can take this"
Normand instantly regretted saying this after the smelling salts hit him like a freight train. He then said:
"Oh god! Smells like my ex!"
Once it was Shaffir's turn, Rogan hilariously pointed out that he smelled it most because of the size of his nose.
