Joe Rogan was proved wrong by CNN this week after trying to call out the mainstream media platform live on the Joe Rogan Experience (JRE).

Rogan, who regularly states that he doesn't fall on the left or right side of American politics, is no stranger to making big statements on his podcast. However it doesn't always go to plan.

In this week's episode with Peter Attia, the pair discussed the ongoing mass protests happening in Paris, France, and Israel. The French public are protesting against their president Emmanuel Macron after he pushed through a bill which raised the retirement age. Israel is currently protesting Israeli judicial reform.

During the show, Rogan asked producer Jamie Vernon to pull up the CNN website, which he was convinced wouldn't cover any of the ongoing events in France and Israel.

To Joe Rogan's surprise, Vernon showed him stories that covered both of the protests:

"I want to see if CNN are showing the protests. Go to the front page of CNN and see if they're showing the massive protests in Paris or the massive protests in Israel... Is there anything in there about the protests? [Rogan is shown there are and lets out an audible sigh] Oh, there is."

Joe Rogan stirs up controversy after suggesting back of the head shots in MMA should be legalized once again

Joe Rogan has caused debate amongst MMA fans after he suggested that fighters should be able to land shots to the back of their opponents' heads.

Strikes to the back of the head have been illegal since the UFC adopted the Unified MMA rule set back in 2000. The move was seen as an attempt to bring in more regulation and safety to the sport, which was still relatively early in its inception.

In a recent episode of the JRE podcast, Rogan gave his take on the rules. The 55-year-old would like to see the back of the head strikes once again be allowed:

"I don't even know if we should stop hitting people in the back of the head, it doesn't make any sense to me. Because a lot of knockouts, like high kicks, they wrap around the back of the shoulder and right to the back of your head and it's legal, the guy gets KO'd."

Rogan added:

"If you have their back, and the head is there, all this punching just to the side is not realistic."
