Newly-crowned ONE bantamweight world champion Fabricio Andrade and former titleholder John Lineker put on a show in the main event of ONE Fight Night 7. The pair of hard-hitting sluggers made up for a disappointing end to their first match last year. From start to finish, both 'Wonder Boy' and 'Hands of Stone' showed courage, toughness, heart, and absolute will to put the other man away.
One interesting aspect of the fight that added more nuance to the striking exchanges was John Lineker's usage of grappling exchanges. Grappling wasn't quite existent in the first fight and 'Hands of Stone' wisely used it to his advantage in the rematch.
ONE Championship posted a video of one particular moment in the fight where Lineker used his takedown to open Adrade up to his concussive shots. They posted it on Instagram:

""Hands of Stone" goes hard 😮"
It was quite smart for the former world champ to pin his opponent in the corner with a takedown. As Andrade tried to get up and defend the takedown, Lineker opened up with a series of hooks. 'Wonder Boy' was trapped in the corner and wasn't fully prepared to defend the strikes yet. Marvelous showing of fight IQ by John Lineker.
Fabricio Andrade beats John Lineker to become the new ONE bantamweight world champion
Last Friday on ONE Fight Night 7, 'Wonder Boy' Fabricio Andrade defeated his rival John Lineker in front of an excited crowd at the legendary Lumpinee Boxing Stadium. In doing so, the 25-year-old Andrade became the new ONE bantamweight world champion.
Right off the bat, Lineker came out firing, looking for an early knockout of 'Wonder boy'. After a series of hard exchanges of leather between the two warriors, Andrade connected with a massive right hand that sent Lineker reeling back. 'Wonder Boy' tried to finish the fight but Lineker was saved by the bell.
Seemingly having recovered, Lineker went back to his stalking pursuit of Andrade in round two, putting on immediate pressure. Andrade, much like in the first fight, used his length and peppered Lineker with stiff jabs and straight punches. Still, 'Hands of Stone' found his range a few times and connected with his powerful hooks.
The second and third rounds were fairly even, but things got a little more interesting come round four. Andrade started unloading his clip on Lineker, eventually busting him up. The former ONE world champion went into desperation mode by was once again saved by the bell.
By the time the fifth round was about to start, Lineker's corner decided to throw in the towel as the cut on his eye was too severe for him to continue fighting safely. With that said, ONE saw a new bantamweight king, named Fabricio Andrade.
