Jonathan Haggerty made sure to not repeat the same fate he had during his reign as the ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion with his current success as a two-sport bantamweight world champion.
In a recent video that ONE Championship posted on Instagram, they highlighted Haggerty's journey from his short rule as a flyweight Muay Thai king to becoming the ONE bantamweight Muay Thai and kickboxing world champion.
The world's largest martial arts organization wrote in the video's caption:
"The heart of a champion 🏆❤️ Can "The General" maintain his reign atop ONE's bantamweight Muay Thai division against Superlek at ONE 168: Denver? @jhaggerty_"

After losing back-to-back bouts to Rodtang Jitmuangnon in August 2019 at ONE: Dawn of Heroes and in January 2020 at ONE: A New Tomorrow, 'The General' decided to move up in weight and explore the bantamweight division.
This gamble paid off massively for him, as he went on to become the latest member of ONE Championship's exclusive champ-champ club.
The British superstar is fresh off a successful defense of his ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world title against Felipe Lobo in February 2024 at ONE Fight Night 19.
Jonathan Haggerty to defend his ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world championship at ONE 168: Denver
Following that incredible come-from-behind victory over the 'Demolition Man,' Haggerty is now set to welcome another tough challenge from reigning ONE flyweight kickboxing world champion Superlek Kiatmoo9 on September 6 at ONE 168: Denver.
The 27-year-old striking sensation looks to extend his win streak to seven and continue his reign as the undisputed Muay Thai king of the weight class. Additionally, he wants to avenge his loss to the Thai star from their first meeting in 2018 at Yokkao.
ONE 168: Denver will air live from the Ball Arena at U.S. primetime on Sept. 6. Tickets for the event are available on sale on Ticketmaster.
