Few can deny that two-sport ONE bantamweight world champion Jonathan Haggerty is one of the very best strikers in ONE Championship today and his technical mastery was on full display in his first bout of 2023.
Happening in April at ONE Fight Night 9, 'The General' challenged the legendary Nong-O Hama for the ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world title, where many saw the Thai great as the favorite.
But one moment in their match became a sign of things going Haggerty's way as he faked a kick that had Nong-O throwing a counterkick to the body which was caught, and the British star landed a big counter right and finished it off with a sweep.
Relive Haggerty's excellent combo below as posted by ONE on Instagram.

It would not take long for Haggerty to crack Nong-O's defense after this sequence as he pulled off the improbable knockout victory with 20 seconds remaining in round one.
In his next contest, the 27-year-old would add the then-vacant bantamweight kickboxing world title to his collection with a second-round knockout of the division's MMA king Fabricio Andrade in November of 2023.
Jonathan Haggerty fired up for next bantamweight Muay Thai world championship defense
Jonathan Haggerty will defend his ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world championship against reigning flyweight kickboxing world titlist Superlek Kiatmoo9 at ONE 168: Denver on September 6 inside the Ball Arena.
With an opportunity to reclaim his 2018 defeat to 'The Kicking Machine' outside of ONE, Haggerty is more than ready for the chance to do so.
He recently told Sportskeeda MMA:
"I'm excited to be back and most of all I'm excited to be back in training camp due to the upcoming fight that's coming up. I'm motivated and excited to get going."
