The ONE bantamweight Muay Thai contender has picked up three victories inside the circle since 2020, including finishes over Mohammed Bin Mahmoud and Muangthai P.K.Saenchai.

While 'Hitman' came up short in his quest for gold against the great Nong-O Hama, he's still the No. 4-ranked contender. Despite his veteran status, Harrison recently claimed to still get the better of more youthful fighters in the training room.

Liam Harrison shares how Muay Thai saved him from a life of crime

The world-class striker grew up in a rough area of the United Kingdom, searching for a way out. Muay Thai came to the rescue as Harrison began training at a gym when he was 13 years old.

Harrison shared how the sport saved him from life on the streets in an Instagram post:

"Obviously, I've grown up in a rough area where honestly not many people make it out. A lot of my friends have ended up in jail. While they were out in the streets getting up to all sorts I was in the gym."

Liam Harrison added:

"In the gym at 13, 14. Then at 15, I started to get really serious with my training ... And that's when most of my friends- some were like getting sent off to jail and they're on the brink of either going one way or the other. I totally left all that."

After a long and successful career outside of ONE Championship, Harrison signed with the promotion in 2018. The 37-year-old dropped his first two bouts, but managed to rattle off three straight wins en route to a world title shot.

Now on the back nine of his career, Harrison is intent on inspiring the younger generation of fighters. However, his main goal is still to attain a ONE Championship world title.

Be sure to check back with Sportskeeda MMA for an announcement pertaining to Liam Harrison's next bout, as he looks to climb back up the bantamweight rankings towards another title shot.
