WATCH: MMA legend Demetrious Johnson dissects Rodtang's fearsome power in their groundbreaking mixed-rules match

The historic mixed-rules super fight between ONE world champions Rodtang Jitmuangnon and Demetrious Johnson was the first of its kind in combat sports. They alternated a four-round match with Muay Thai and MMA.

This groundbreaking fight happened in March 2022 at ONE: X which took place inside the Singapore Indoor Stadium. Johnson's breakdown of Rodtang's solid punch that hit him during the opening round was recently reposted by ONE Championship on Instagram.

'Mighty Mouse' analyzed the sequence on his YouTube channel and stated:

"Right here, I got rocked. John Dodson and Rodtang are the only people who have actually hit me so damn hard where I'm like, 'Oh my god, that hurt.' He gets super close. I go up, I thought he's gonna kick. I'm not off-balance but I'm on one leg. I can't really move athletically. Look at my hand is, right here. My face is wide open for a f****** right hand. Good job on Rodtang. This hand is up to protect my head but sheesh. Good thing your boy's got a chin."

In the video, Johnson was seen getting rocked by Rodtang's punches, which momentarily stunned him. Fortunately for the ONE flyweight MMA world champion, he was able to weather the storm in the Muay Thai round and eventually got the submission finish in the second round, where the MMA rules were in full effect.

Demetrious Johnson doesn't let combat sports fame get to his head

Despite having all the success of being a multiple-time world champion and a multiple-time IBJJFF medalist, Johnson still feels like a normal person doing normal tasks every day whenever he is not competing.

The Evolve MMA representative shared this during his recent podcast episode with former ONE atomweight MMA world champion Angela Lee, stating that he will never fall in love with the lights.
