Nico Carrillo and Johan Ghazali are among the marquee names set to light up ONE Championship’s next premium live event on Jan. 24.

The two rising stars will compete in separate bouts at ONE 170, taking place at the 12,000-capacity Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.

Carrillo is booked to go head-to-head with Nabil Anane for the ONE interim bantamweight Muay Thai world championship. Meanwhile, Ghazali is penciled to lock horns with fellow up-and-comer Johan Estupinan in a flyweight Muay Thai showdown.

To stoke the excitement, the promotion recently dropped a highlight reel featuring stunning performances from the athletes slated to compete on the card, including Carrillo and Ghazali:

The fanfare surrounding both heavy hitters is understandable.

Since joining the world’s largest martial arts organization, Carrillo has methodically taken apart every opponent in his path, earning his place as a top contender in the bantamweight Muay Thai division.

‘King of the North’ first made his mark through the weekly ONE Friday Fights series, where he delivered a sensational third-round stoppage of Furkan Karabag in his April 2023 debut.

Just two months later, he impressed even further with a second-round TKO of Muangthai PK Saenchai, garnering a seat on the main roster along with a $100,000 contract.

Carrillo’s rise didn’t stop there. In December 2023, he pulled off an upset by knocking out former ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion Nong-O Hama in the first round.

In July 2024, he secured his pole position in the title race with a second-round demolition of Saemapetch Fairtex.

Johan Ghazali targets his seventh win in ONE

Meanwhile, Johan Ghazali has been nothing short of extraordinary since directing his career path to ONE.

The 18-year-old phenom made an immediate impact with four consecutive wins under the ONE Friday Fights banner, which earned him a main roster spot and a lucrative $100,000 deal.

His main roster debut in December 2023 surpassed all expectations, as he finished Edgar Tabares in just 36 seconds.

In his most recent outing, ‘Jojo’ added Josue Cruz to his list of victims, delivering a spectacular first-round knockout.

Now, Ghazali aims to extend his momentum by clinching his seventh win on the ONE stage.
