Not a lot of things are considered more frightening than being on the receiving end of a Rodtang Jitmuangnon combination. The ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion's ferocious striking combinations are akin to a crushing avalanche. You can run but you cannot hide.
'The Iron Man' was in prime form when he faced ONE newcomer Jacob Smith at ONE 157 last year. The bout, which was a quarter-final pairing for the ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Grand Prix, was an absolute beatdown from start to finish.
In a short video posted by ONE Championship on Instagram, we saw one of the most brutal combinations connected by Rodang Jitmuangnon in the fight:

What we saw here was Rodtang Jitmuangnon putting together a classic defense-to-offense combination in Muay Thai. After masterfully catching a kick from Smith, 'The Iron Man' held on to the leg while throwing a piston-like right cross to the body. He then followed it up with with a concussive right hand to the temple that sent the Brit crashing to the canvas. The leg trip in the end was inconsequential as Smith was already on his way to the ground.
Rodtang is not just feared for his ferocity and aggression, he is also revered for his underrated fight IQ.
Rodtang Jitmuangnon to face Superlek Kiatmoo9 for the ONE flyweight kickboxing world title
In perhaps one of the most interesting Muay Thai match-ups of this generation, Rodtang Jitmuangnon will face Superlek Kiatmoo9 for the ONE flyweight kickboxing world title.
On Friday, March 24, newly-crowned ONE flyweight kickboxing world champion Superlek Kiatmoo9 will defend his throne against longtime ONE flyweight Muay Thai king Rodtang at ONE Fight Night 8.
With over 500 bouts between the two warriors, it's quite surprising that Rodtang and Superlek have never locked horns in the past. This fact alone makes this first-time clash all the more exciting to watch.
Superlek, known as 'The Kicking Machine' to his fans, has a staggering 132-29-4 record with multiple world titles under his belt. His notable wins include victories over icons like Muangthai PK.Saenchai, Japan's Taiki Naito, former ONE flyweight Muay Thai titleholder Jonathan Haggerty, and Spain's Daniel Puertas for the world title.
The most interesting statistic on Superlek's resume, however, is his back-to-back wins over ONE Super Series Knockout of the year Winner and Rodtang's teammate, Panpayak Jitmuangnon.
As for Rodtang Jitmuangnon, not a lot can be said about 'The Iron Man' that hasn't been said already. Rodtang is considered to be the no.1 pound-for-pound Muay Thai fighter in the world by The Nation and boasts a legendary 270-42-10 pro Muay Thai record.
Winning a second belt in a second sport will surely be a massive feather in Rodtang's cap. All 'The Iron Man' needs to do is get past the formidable 'Kicking Machine'.
