'Super' Sage Northcutt is some nine weeks away from his much-awaited return to action and is training hard. At the same time, he's getting all the help he can to prepare himself well.

The American fighter will return to competition after almost four years away due to various medical issues at ONE Fight Night 10 on Prime Video. On May 5 in Colorado, USA, he will face off against Pakistan’s Ahmed 'Wolverine' Mujtaba in a lightweight battle.

Sage Northcutt said he is working hard in training with Team Alpha Male to make it a winning return for him.

Recently, 'Super' shared a video on Twitter showing him sharing some rolling techniques with All Elite Wrestling (AEW) fighter Malakai Black. He captioned it with:

“Had a blast meeting up with @aew @malakaiblxck to exchange some techniques! Looking forward to seeing him bust out some of these moves tonight on AEW Dynamite.”

Since joining ONE Championship in 2018, Sage Northcutt has had only one fight, which he lost to Brazilian Cosmo Alexandre by way of a devastating first-round knockout in May 2019. Making matters worse, the loss resulted in multiple facial fractures that required surgery and considerable recovery time.

He attempted to make a comeback, most prominently against Japanese legend Shinya Aoki in April 2021, but had to pull out because of the lingering effects from COVID-19.

ONE Fight Night 10 is the promotion’s first-ever live on-ground event in the United States, which will take place at the 1stBank Center in Broomfield, Colorado. It will be aired live and for free to all Prime Video subscribers in North America.

Sage Northcutt eager to remind fans what he's capable of as a fighter, regardless of KO loss in ONE debut

Sage Northcutt had the unfortunate experience of seeing his ONE Championship journey take an unexpected detour right at the onset due to injury. But now that he is healthy, he looks forward to making up for lost time.

'Super' spent a lot of time on the sidelines recovering from multiple facial fractures in the aftermath of his knockout loss to Cosmo Alexandre in his promotional debut in May 2019.

It was a juncture in his career that he looks back on with regret.

Speaking on The MMA Hour, Sage Northcutt shared that it was unfortunate he was not able to show what he was made of immediately and highlighted how he was on a winning roll prior to his ONE Championship debut:

“You asked about fans maybe forgetting or someone that might not know [me]. That’s the thing, I feel like coming into ONE Championship, I didn’t really get to show what I truly can do. And it was unfortunate what happened in my first fight with ONE Championship. But I’m coming off the UFC where I was fighting before, my last three fights consecutively, I was on a three-fight win streak.”

Sage Northcutt hopes to reintroduce himself to fight fans on May 5. He is training hard with his team, leaving no stone unturned to be in the best possible shape come fight night.

At ONE Fight Night 10, waiting for 'Super' Sage will be Pakistan’s Ahmed 'Wolverine' Mujtaba, who is currently riding a two-fight win streak.
