Current number three-ranked bantamweight MMA contender Kwon Won Il has worked his way up to the top five rankings of the weight class by compiling an impressive record of nine wins in ONE Championship since his debut in 2019.
Included in this stretch were Kwon's highlight-reel finishes that he produced against other top contenders in the weight class. The world's largest martial arts organization recently featured them in an Instagram post with the caption:
"'Pretty Boy' in top form 🔥 Will Kwon Won Il dethrone Fabricio Andrade and be crowned the new bantamweight MMA king at ONE 170? @wonil_kwon"

In the nine-slide post, 'Pretty Boy's' incredible 100 percent finish rate was highlighted, as his triumphs over Kevin Belingon, Chen Rui, Anthony Engelen, Eric Kelly, Sunoto, Bruno Pucci, Mark Abelardo, Artem Belakh and most recently Shinechagtga Zoltsetseg were posted.
The South Korean MMA star's current three-fight win streak has allowed him to earn a shot for the coveted 26-pound golden belt against his former tormentor, ONE bantamweight MMA world champion Fabricio Andrade.
This second meeting between Kwon and Andrade is included in the loaded ONE 170 card, which goes down inside the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand, on Jan. 24.
Kwon Won Il says his mental game will be on point in upcoming rematch with Fabricio Andrade at ONE 170
Two years after that defeat at the hands of 'Wonder Boy', the Extreme Combat and P-Boy MMA representative has learned the valuable lesson of having his mentality on point heading into the match.
In his most recent interview with Anything Goes, Kwon discussed how he learned it the hard way and how he will use it properly this time to avenge his loss to Andrade, as he stated:
"I can honestly say that the biggest lesson I learned was mentality. During the first fight, as I mentioned before, my mental wasn't there. That mentality wasn't there. So I learned a lot from that first fight. And now I know how important it is to have that mentality when fighting. So, this time, I won't be showing that."
