South Korean knockout out artist Kwon Won Il has been on an impressive tear of late, winning his last three matches all by way of finishes. It all started with his third-round TKO victory over New Zealander-Filipino fighter Mark Abelardo a little over two years ago.
The setting was ONE 163 in Singapore in a bantamweight MMA showdown. Kwon was looking to bounce back after he lost to Fabricio Andrade in a title eliminator previously.
'Pretty Boy' was in his element in the three-round scrap, which he capped with a well-timed knee to the head of Belardo late in the third round to set up a barrage of punches to end the match.
ONE Championship relived the impressive win with a video on Instagram for fight fans to appreciate ahead of Kwon's return to action this week.

Kwon Won Il followed up on his spectacular victory over Belardo with two more KO wins over Russian Artem Belakh in June 2023 and Mongolian Shinechagtga Zoltsetseg in January 2024.
The string of KO wins thrust Kwon to a title shot at the bantamweight world title against rival and reigning champion Andrade at ONE 170 on Jan. 24 at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.
The rematch is the co-headlining match of the event, which is available on the ONE YouTube channel and Facebook (geo-restrictions may apply) as well as on watch.ONEFC.com.
Kwon Won Il says he is better equipped to battle Fabricio Andrade in rematch
Kwon Won Il will run it back against Fabricio Andrade at ONE 170 on Jan. 24 and he believes he is better equipped to battle the Brazilian star now than in their first encounter.
The two met in a title eliminator in June 2022, with 'Wonder Boy' knocking out 'Pretty Boy' in the opening round with a solid kick to the body that instantly rendered Kwon unable to continue after.
In an interview with ONE Championship ahead of their marquee rematch, the P-Boy MMA affiliate underscored that he has improved as a fighter since the first match and ready to take the match to the reigning champion.
He said:
"It's just my confidence. I trust and believe in myself. I believe I'm better than him and I have more weapons."
Kwon has been competing in ONE since 2019 and has won nine of 13 matches, including the last three.
