Stamp Fairtex was among the spectators at ONE Fight Night 27 last Friday, Jan. 10. Her attention was fixed on the high-stakes clash between Denice Zamboanga and Alyona Rassohyna.
As the lineal ONE women’s atomweight MMA world champion, Stamp had every reason to keep a close watch on the matchup, with the interim crown on the line and the winner set to challenge her for undisputed supremacy.

Seated ringside at the iconic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, the Thai megastar witnessed Zamboanga seize the moment in spectacular fashion to claim a share of the throne atop the division.
‘The Menace’ put on a striking masterclass early in the contest, landing crisp boxing combinations that repeatedly connected with precision. On the ground, Zamboanga demonstrated exceptional control, nullifying Rassohyna’s attempts to turn the tide.
The second round saw Zamboanga intensify her dominance, securing a takedown and unleashing a barrage of ground-and-pound strikes. Her unrelenting aggression left referee Herb Dean no choice but to step in, awarding her a technical knockout victory
Zamboanga’s triumph was monumental — not only did she claim the interim belt, but she also earned a $50,000 performance bonus from ONE Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong.
More significantly, she etched her name in the record books as the first Filipina to capture an MMA world title.
Stamp Fairtex sees no problem facing ‘friend’ Denice Zamboanga
Following the bout, Stamp Fairtex entered the ring to congratulate Denice Zamboanga for her historic win.
The two trained together under the same roof at the Fairtex Training Center in Pattaya, Thailand. Through countless sessions and shared experiences, they developed a genuine affinity for each other.
With Zamboanga now holding the interim titlet, a unification showdown with Stamp appears inevitable, likely taking place later this year, pending the Thai’s medical clearance.
Despite her friendship with Zamboanga, Stamp views it as a responsibility that comes with being the reigning champion.
She said this in an interview with ONE color commentator Mitch Chilson:
"I’m so excited to meet her in the ring. For sure, I’m ready to fight my friend. It’s okay.”
