Stamp Fairtex says she’s willing to take another stab at a kickboxing and Muay Thai world title
Stamp Fairtex knows that it will be a while before she ever faces Angela Lee in a rematch for the ONE atomweight world title.
With the atomweight queen absent from competition since the tragic passing of her sister, Victoria Lee, the division has come at a standstill.
Before Stamp transitioned to MMA, she was the first-ever two-sport world champion in kickboxing and Muay Thai. She subsequently lost the belts to reigning ONE atomweight kickboxing world champion Janet Todd and the current ONE atomweight Muay Thai world champion Allycia Hellen Rodrigues, who are also on a collision course to unify the Muay Thai belt at ONE Fight Night 8 on March 25.
Willing to wait for Lee’s return, Stamp said she’s planning for another run for the kickboxing and Muay Thai belts.
She recently told ONE Championship:
“I would like to use this time to reclaim my title in kickboxing and Muay Thai because I still feel sad about what happened with Angela Lee and the Lee family. So, that will take a while, and after a while, I’ll go back to MMA for Angela Lee.”
