Stamp Fairtex has never been accused of avoiding risk in her career, both in the past, present, and future.
Ahead of her appearance at ONE Championship’s debut show for 2023 this Friday, the promotion has uploaded the full fight from her clash with the USA’s Bi Nguyen. The fight took place at ONE: Masters of Fate in Manila on November 8, 2019.

Stamp Fairtex was all-action from the start, pressing forward with strikes. Nguyen, the far shorter fighter, clearly wanted to get the fight to the gritty spaces of wrestling and top control.
As this was only Stamp’s third MMA fight, the jury was still out on whether or not she could hang with the elements of MMA like wrestling and grappling. While those questions have long been answered, this fight showed perhaps for the first time that Stamp could hold a good account of herself against an experienced MMA practitioner.
Bi Nguyen’s strategy of getting Stamp Fairtex down was met with too much resistance, and the damage by Stamp won her a clear unanimous decision from the judges.
Stamp Fairtex is back in action in short order as she fights Anissa Meksen in a custom-rules bout this Friday at ONE Fight 6 on Prime Video. The bout alternates from round to round between ONE’s Muay Thai and MMA rules.
After the two fight on Friday, they have agreed to fight again in an interim kickboxing world title fight later this spring, ONE CEO Chatri Sityodtong announced at a press conference this week.
Stamp Fairtex believes she has multiple technical advantages over Anissa Meksen
While it’s been a minute since Stamp Fairtex has competed in a traditional Muay Thai fight, she doesn’t see any reason she’d be at a disadvantage against striker Anissa Meksen this Friday.
In an interview with ONE Championship this week, the ONE Women’s Atomweight World Grand Prix winner listed the technical advantages that she believes she holds over Meksen:
“With my purple belt, I believe I have an advantage over her in choking and transition in MMA. And, I think I am better than her in Muay Thai clinching. I think I can finish her in the MMA round because I think I’m better than her in MMA.”
The bout begins with ONE’s Muay Thai rules in rounds one and three and will follow MMA rules in rounds two and four.
If the fight sees time in the MMA rounds, it will be interesting to see what Stamp Fairtex's approach will be - to lean on her experience in striking still, or to rush to get the fight to the mat to exploit Meksen’s weakness in grappling.
ONE Fight Night 6 airs on Amazon Prime for North American subscribers on Friday, January 13, in US prime time.
