Top strawweight MMA fighters Jarred Brooks and Joshua Pacio have developed an engaging rivalry, which started in their first title showdown in Manila two years ago.
The setting was ONE 164 on Dec. 3, 2022, where 'The Monkey God' scored a unanimous decision win to dethrone 'The Passion' as the ONE strawweight world champion.
ONE Championship relived the first encounter between the two, from the heated face-off all the way to their spirited exchange on fight night, in an Instagram post in line with their scheduled trilogy title clash in Qatar next year.

Brooks and Pacio then had a rematch in March this year in Qatar, which ended with the American fighter disqualified and losing the strawweight gold to his opponent for executing an illegal spike that had the Filipino fighter hitting his head first on the canvas.
Jarred Brooks and Joshua Pacio go at it again at ONE 171
The unfortunate ending in their last match in March has set the stage for Jarred Brooks and Joshua Pacio's trilogy title fight set for Feb. 20 at ONE 171: Qatar at the Lusail Sports Arena in Qatar.
It is one of two world title fights already confirmed for the event, which will mark the return of ONE Championship to Qatar, following the successful ONE 166 held in March this year. The other championship fight is that between ONE bantamweight kickboxing world champion Jonathan Haggerty and challenger Wei Rui of China.
The match at ONE 171 is the first for Pacio after he underwent surgery for his injured knee, which he suffered even before he took on Jarred Brooks in their rematch. Apart from retaining his world title, the Lions Nation MMA standout is out to chalk up his third straight victory.
Jarred Brooks, the interim strawweight MMA world champion, meanwhile, is looking to unify the belts in his division and bounce back after falling short in his flyweight MMA debut last week, where he lost to Reece McLaren by decision.
ONE 171 will be aired live and for free in U.S. primetime to North American fans with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription.
