Coming off a unanimous decision loss that halted his momentum, Suriyanlek was determined to bounce back. However, his road to redemption didn’t begin as planned — he missed weight for the bout, costing him 20 percent of his purse.
With added pressure to deliver, he found himself in an even tougher predicament when Thant Zin had him in a precarious position during the early goings of the encounter.
Thant Zin repeatedly targeted Suriyanlek’s lead leg with punishing low kicks, nearly crippling him throughout the first round and into the early moments of the second.
But just when it seemed like the fight was slipping away, the Thai striker flipped the script in dramatic fashion.
A crisp left hook sent Thant Zin crashing to the canvas, marking the beginning of an electrifying comeback.
Smelling blood, Suriyanlek followed up with a powerful overhand right for a second knockdown before sealing the deal with a perfectly placed straight punch — securing a third knockdown and the TKO finish.
The stoppage came at the 2:09 mark of the second round, boosting Suriyanlek’s professional record to 82-28.
