"LEG KICK KO 🤯 Tawanchai PK.Saenchai 🇹🇭 chops Jamal Yusupov down just 49 SECONDS into their fight to defend his ONE Featherweight Muay Thai World Title!"
Tawanchai is supremely proud of his ONE featherweight Muay Thai world title
In 2022, after consecutive knockout wins, Tawanchai challenged dangerous Muay Thai veteran Petchmorakot Petchyindee for the ONE featherweight Muay Thai throne.
After five rounds of back-and-forth war, the 23-year-old athlete was able to get his hand raised thus becoming the new ONE featherweight Muay Thai king. Capturing this world title was a dream for the Thai-born fighter.
While in an interview with ONE Championship, he explained:
“I was excited and happy when [the fight] came to the end of the fifth round. I knew my dream would come true soon and the belt was mine. When I took the belt on my shoulder, I felt like I was in a dream. I didn’t dare to think that an ordinary fighter like me would become the World Champion. I can’t describe my happiness right now.”
The 23-year-old Muay Thai king was later able to defend his world title at the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium. In this venue, a young Tawanchai would cut his teeth as a youth competing in Muay Thai. Returning to these hallowed halls to defend his ONE Championship throne was an honor for him.
“It’s the nostalgic feeling. Lumpinee is the most respected stadium, which has accommodated the best Muay Thai fighters. There are so many that become well-known after fighting in this stadium.”
