Superlek hires conditioning coach to help with move to bantamweight: "He’s been a big help"
Flyweight kickboxing king 'The Kicking Machine' Superlek Kiatmoo9 has double gold on his mind as he heads into a world title opportunity against two-sport world champion 'The General' Jonathan Haggerty at ONE 168: Denver.
To help him manage his weight and hydration while maintaining his strength and power in a move to bantamweight, the Thai star has enlisted the aid of a strength and conditioning coach named Hook.
He told ONE Championship:
"I feel I’m more at ease with the weight-cutting process. It’s essential to have someone you can trust on your team. This is my first time moving up to bantamweight, so he’s been a big help."
Superlek added:
"We’ve been doing weight training, making sure that strength is increased, but not too much muscle mass because I still want to be able to defend my belt at flyweight. His knowledge is definitely valuable. I feel prepared and supported in this fight camp."
