Brazilian Mayssa Bastos extended her domination over American Danielle Kelly as she scored another convincing decision victory in their title rematch last week in Thailand. She even knew that she had the match in the bag before the final bell sounded.
The two grappling aces collided for the second time at ONE Fight Night 26: Lee vs. Rasulov on Dec. 6 at Bangkok's Lumpinee Stadium for the ONE atomweight submission grappling world title. It was a rematch of their first title clash back in August, where Bastos seized the championship belt from Kelly by unanimoius decision.
Like in their first encounter, they engaged in a competitive back-and-forth for much of their 10-minute joust. The Art of Jiu-Jitsu standout, however, found ways to get the better of her opponent, this time around by way of a late leg catch which turned out to be the difference in the end.
Mayssa Bastos knew she had not only the leg catch, but the win secured in the dying seconds as she was spotted looking at the referee to step in and stop the contest. While the referee didn't stop the contest, the bell sounded, giving Bastos the win.

She dug deep to secure a last-second leg catch that proved very significant in swaying the decision her way. Bastos shared her thoughts on her latest performance in a post-fight Instagram post, writing:
"Defended my belt for the first time 🏆 Grateful for the challenges and opportunities I'm having and excited to go back home, get back to training, and make improvements."
She went on to say:
