Apart from an uncanny resemblance to "One Piece" character Monkey D. Luffy, towering Thai-Algerian fighter Nabil Anane also boasts a diverse skillset that makes him a handful in competition. He showcased it in his impressive decision victory over veteran Muangthai PK Saenchai in December last year.
The 6-foot-3 Team Mehdo Zatout standout channeled his inner "stretchy" like Luffy to get the better of "Elbow Zombie' at ONE Friday Fights 46 on Dec. 22, 2023, banking on his considerable reach advantage to continuously tag his opponent throughout their battle.
Anane even scored a knockdown with a solid right knee to the body midway in the third round to strengthen his case for the decision victory.
ONE Championship recently uploaded the full fight between the two on its official YouTube channel for fans to relive and appreciate ahead of Anane's return to action this week.

The win was the second straight for Nabil Anane at that point after losing in his promotional debut in June last year to Thai superstar Superlek Kiatmoo9. He has since won three more matches to extend his win streak to five straight.
It is a streak he looks to sustain when he plunges into action at ONE Fight Night 26: Lee vs. Rasulov on Dec. 6 at the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. He will go up against former bantamweight kickboxing world champion Petchtanong Petchfergus in a kickboxing showdown.
ONE Fight Night 26 will be available live and for free in U.S. primetime to North American fans with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription.
Nabil Anane welcomes Luffy comparisons
Nabil Anane is not a bit bothered by comparisons to Japanese manga character Monkey D. Luffy. In fact, he agrees with them and embraces being likened to the "One Piece" hero.
He shared this in an interview following his victory over Brazilian Felipe Lobo back in August, highlighting how the comparisons are not without their basis:
"I just look like him. I got long arms and long legs. He's a robber. And, yeah. I just look like him. Here, below my eye, I got stitches before. I look like him. It's just a character. And also, I watch 'One Piece', but I haven't watched it for a long time. So I will be watching it again because I love 'One Piece'."
20-year-old Anane returns to action at ONE Fight Night 26 on Dec. 6 in Thailand, which will be his fourth match in six months.
