Twin brothers Tye and Kade Ruotolo have been making waves in submission grappling under ONE Championship. But while they've made their names on the mats, the duo recently showcased their improved striking skills.
The jiu-jitsu stars have been incredible inside the circle, with Kade winning the inaugural ONE lightweight submission grappling world championship at ONE on Prime Video 3 last October.
Meanwhile, Tye Ruotolo is a perfect 2-0 under ONE Championship, scoring submissions over veteran opponents Garry Tonon and Marat Gafurov.
The brothers have long-teased a possible transition from grappling to MMA, even displaying their striking via Instagram:

Kade Ruotolo explains his mindset as well as his opponent's "preventative"' style against him
The Ruotolo brothers have a reputation as being dominant grapplers. According to Kade, opponents tend to take a cautious approach against them. He told reporters after his win at ONE on Prime Video 5:
"I was really trying everything I could. People really tend to be very preventative against us, they don't like to go for under hooks, they don't like to wrestle up; things like that. Because they know our chokes and know that they are bigger threats."
Kade Ruotolo added:
“No matter who it is, if I were to fight [MMA legend] Khabib [Nurmagomedov], my goal is to take him down and submit. You know, pass and submit. It’s always the same for everybody. And the same for my brother. For me, that’s always just been the most realistic situation.”
The jiu-jitsu phenoms are helping to bring a lot of extra positive attention to the sport of submission grappling. They, along with Danielle Kelly and Mikey Musumeci, have already done a lot for the world of jiu-jitsu.
Kade Ruotolo is still awaiting his next opponent after making a successful world title defense over Matheus Gabriel last December.
Be sure to tune in to ONE Fight Night 10 on May 5 to watch Tye Ruotolo take on ONE middleweight world champion Reinier de Ridder in a submission grappling match, live from the 1stBank Center in Broomfield, Colorado.
All of the action will be broadcast live and for free to Amazon Prime subscribers across North America.
