Reigning and undisputed ONE welterweight submission grappling world champion Tye Ruotolo of the United States has had an incredible run in ONE Championship, scoring spectacular submission wins and taking home hefty performance bonuses.

The 21-year-old Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt combines explosive movement with sublime technique to force his opponents to tap.

He joined the world's largest martial arts organization in May of 2022 and has since won all six of his matches in the promotion. But it was his November 2023 victory over Russia's Magomed Abdulkadirov that earned him the coveted ONE gold.

Ruotolo battled Abdulkadirov at ONE Fight Night 16 on Prime Video for the inaugural ONE welterweight submission grappling world title, and the American superstar did not disappoint.

Tye Ruotolo on the 'biggest difference' between he and twin Kade: "I probably hermit out more"

At first glance, you would be right to assume that Tye and Kade Ruotolo are one and the same person. But in fact, Tye will be the first to say that they are two very different people with vastly different personalities.

The biggest difference is that Tye believes he's more of an introvert, opting to keep to himself most of the time, while Kade is more outgoing.

Tye Ruotolo told ONE Championship in a recent interview:

"I probably hermit out more than Kade does. Kade enjoys making a lot of connections, sponsorship type of things. I like to hermit out a little bit. I’m outgoing, but when I’m at home, I’m happy. I think that’s the biggest difference."
