Watch: UFC Vegas 64 witnesses the third-ever knee-to-the-body finish in the women's division

With a dominant win at UFC Vegas 64, Tamires Vidal passed her first test in the UFC with flying colors. The debutant wrapped up business in the very first round with a spectacular flying knee to the body, which left her opponent Ramona Pascual wincing in pain.

A report by MMA FIGHTING quoted commentator Brendan Fitzgerald stating that it was the third-ever flying knee-to-the-body finish in the history of the UFC women's division.

The fight stayed mostly on the feet, but Vidal backed up from a clinch and lunged forward to deliver a powerful knee to the body, sending Pascual crumbling down. Referee Chris Tognoni called a stop to the contest at the 3:06 mark of the very first round.

During the post-fight press conference at the event, Tamires Vidal revealed that during the fight, her "master" predicted that she would get the knockout if she used her knee:

"I heard my coach, I heard my master saying you're going to use that knee and you're going to get a knockout and that's exactly what happened[transcript as per Vidal's translator]."

With a win at UFC Vegas 64, 'Tratora' extended her win streak to six fights. The Brazilian's pro-MMA record currently stands at seven wins and one loss. The 24-year-old is also a former Samurai Fighting House (SFH) bantamweight champion.

With the loss to the Brazilian, 34-year-old Ramona Pascual has extended her losing streak to three fights. The Hong Kong native is yet to register a win in the UFC.


Other standout performances of UFC Vegas 64

In the main event of the fight card, No.7-ranked strawweight contender Amanda Lemos finished the No.3-ranked Marina Rodriguez via a third-round knockout. With the win, Lemos could potentially get the chance to fight for the 115-pound title in her next fight.

In the co-main event, welterweight contender Neil Magny defeated Daniel Rodriguez via submission in the third round. 'The Haitian Sensation' locked in a Brabo choke at the 3:33 minute mark of the third round to secure the win.

With the win, Magny has officially surpassed Georges St-Pierre for the most wins in the welterweight history of the promotion. He currently holds 20 wins in the 170 lbs division.

Surging lightweight contender Grant Dawson triumphed over Mark Madsen at UFC Vegas 64 via third-round submission due to a rear-naked choke. Dawson is currently on an eight-fight undefeated streak in the UFC.
