WATCH: Welterweight submission grappling king Tye Ruotolo forces Dagi Arslanaliev to submit twice in one match

ONE welterweight submission grappling world champion Tye Ruotolo demonstrated why he is regarded as one of his generation's best Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ) competitors when he fought Dagi Arslanaliev in a catchweight (180 pounds) submission grappling bout at ONE Fight Night 13 in August 2023.

Ruotolo had little trouble locking in a heel hook that forced Arslanaliev to tap out. But when the bell did not ring, Ruotolo immediately cinched in a rear-naked choke to secure the submission victory.

The Atos product's next foray inside the circle saw him outduel Magomed Abdulkadirov to win the inaugural ONE welterweight submission grappling world championship in November 2023.

Ruotolo's first defense of the crown came against Izaak Michell at ONE Fight Night 21 this past April, where the American earned his fourth submission win under the ONE banner with the now-famous 'Ruotolo-tine'.

The BJJ black belter extended his unbeaten record in ONE to seven by outlasting South African standout Jozef Chen this past July.

Kade Ruotolo addresses when twin brother Tye will likely make his MMA debut

Fans are raring to see Tye Ruotolo make his MMA debut and join twin brother Kade, the reigning ONE lightweight submission grappling world champion, in their quest for two-sport domination.

In an interview with Karyn Bryant, Kade shared when Tye will likely make his MMA debut:

"100 percent, yeah, he's going to be doing MMA. We'll see after ADCC, that's his next really big priority. But after that, probably towards the end of this year. I'm sure he'll be making his MMA debut."
