Bibiano Fernandes will go down in ONE Championship history as one of the promotion's greatest ever fighters and champions.
The two-time bantamweight world champion will return at ONE on Prime Video 4 against Stephen Loman. He'll be looking to make his way back to the world championship that he held for so long.
One of Bibiano Fernandes’ toughest tests in his title reign has been posted on YouTube by ONE Championship. At ONE: Iron Will in 2018, Fernandes defended his belt from then-two-weight world champion Martin Nguyen, who was looking to make history by adding a third belt to his shoulder.
In a back-and-forth contest, Fernandes was able to hurt Nguyen right at the end of the fight to sway the result in his favor and take home a split decision win. Stopping Nguyen’s six-fight win streak, Bibiano Fernandes proved that he wasn’t going anywhere just yet.

In his post-fight interview, Fernandes said:
“I really needed this challenge for my life right now, I’m the champion, and I’m here to stay. I’m the best bantamweight in the world.”

Mark Sangiao believes Bibiano Fernandes is still dangerous based on last fight
Mark Sangiao, head coach of Team Lakay, has given his thoughts on former two-time bantamweight champion Bibiano Fernandes and his current form.
'The Flash' is set to return to the circle next month against one of Sangiao’s top fighters, Stephen Loman. Taking place on the main card of ONE on Prime Video 4: Abbasov vs. Lee, the fight will be Fernandes’ first since losing his world championship to John Lineker in March.
Speaking to The MMA Super-fan on YouTube, Coach Mark Sangiao spoke about the former world champion's abilities inside the circle. Despite the recent KO loss and the fact that he's already 42, Sangiao still believes Bibiano Fernades is a dangerous opponent for his fighter:
“Still this is MMA, we saw Bibiano lose in his last fight but still showed good heart and good skill. We’re expecting his striking.”
Whilst he ultimately lost the fight, Fernandes showed against Lineker exactly why he was champion for so long, showing tremendous heart and toughness to stay in the fight when hurt and land some significant damage of his own.
His opponent at ONE on Prime Video 4 comes into their matchup on a two-fight win streak since signing with ONE Championship.
