Hard-nosed MMA fighter Jarred Brooks highlighted the wrestling facet of his game in his dominant victory in his last fight over Cuban Gustavo Balart, who he made short work of with an opening-round submission. The two collided at ONE Fight Night 24 back in August at the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, for the interim strawweight MMA world title.
'The Monkey God' received some smack talk from Balart to start off the contest, but that didn't end up stopping Brooks from going about his business.
He was on top of things right from the opening bell, punctuating it with a violent finish by way of a rear-naked choke late in the first round for the win.
ONE Championship relived the start and end of the contest with a video post on Instagram to remind fans of the Brooks' wrestling game ahead of his showdown next week.

The same potency in his wrestling game is what Jarred Brooks looks to bring when he takes on veteran Australian fighter Reese McLaren in their flyweight MMA showdown at ONE Fight Night 26 on Dec. 6 at Lumpinee .
Brooks will go up a division for the showdown, which will be aired live and for free at U.S. primetime to North American fans with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription.
Jarred Brooks eager to prove his doubters wrong at ONE Fight Night 26
Making his flyweight MMA debut in his match at ONE Fight 26 on Dec. 6, tradiitonal strawweight fighter Jarred Brooks is aware that many are viewing his foray with some doubts. Proving those doubters wrong is at the top of the priority list for 'The Monkey God.'
The interim strawweight MMA world champion shared his goal in an interview with The MMA Superfan, saying:
"I want to prove to all these guys that have been doubting me -- all of these people that have been doubting me on social media, all these people that have been doubting me, that really gets to me."
Brooks is moving up to flyweight at ONE Fight Night 26 as part of his push to become a multidivision world champion.
