Despite no longer sharing the same gym, Lito Adiwang has made it clear that he'll never publicly call out his former teammate and good pal Joshua Pacio. Then again, 'Thunder Kid' knows the nature of the fight game.

If he wants to own 26 pounds of gold one day, he could have to run through the reigning strawweight MMA world champion.

Adiwang once again addressed the possibility of sharing the circle with Pacio in a recent interview with Sportskeeda MMA.

If he had his way, the electric Filipino striker wants to get his hands on interim strawweight MMA kingpin Jarred Brooks. But if push comes to shove, Adiwang says he and Pacio have already spoken in the past about locking horns:

"Of course, there are plenty of other reasons why people would want to see us fight, and that’s fine. So prefer to really fight Jarred, but if worse comes to worst, fighting Joshua is fine too. Way back, Josh and I would joke about it, but for me, for the sake of the sport, we can do it professionally."

A Lito Adiwang versus Joshua Pacio showdown would indeed garner a lot of intrigue, especially if it takes place in the Philippines.

But that exciting fight might be a pipe dream in the meantime, as 'The Passion' recovers from a knee injury, while Adiwang has yet to re-enter the division's top five.

Lito Adiwang says Joshua Pacio will be much better in inevitable trilogy with Jarred Brooks

Before Lito Adiwang can enter the title picture, he knows the rivalry between Joshua Pacio and Jarred Brooks must be settled first.

When that inevitable grudge match finally comes, the Soma Fight Club athlete is confident that his compatriot can finally stop 'The Monkey God's takedowns.

'Thunder Kid' told Sportskeeda MMA:

"Joshua has become sharper on his takedown defense. He can see and shoots clearer now. Apart from that, he also added more movement after defending. When he first met Jarred, he could stuff the takedowns with his defense, but there was no next move after that."
