Takeru Segawa is taking the next step in his preparation for his super fight against Rodtang Jitmuangnon.
The Japanese superstar will face off against Rodtang in a five-round flyweight kickboxing showdown in the main event of ONE 172 on March 23 at the iconic Saitama Super Arena in Japan.
Taking to Instagram, Takeru revealed that he left Japan to train in the United States nearly three months before his fated duel against Rodtang.

Takeru Segawa posted:
"Today we start our training camp in the US 🇺🇸 We are determined to win the match on March 23rd. We are fired up!!"
Takeru is arguably the greatest Japanese kickboxer in history and is the only fighter to capture the K-1 Kickboxing world title in three separate divisions.
The former super bantamweight, featherweight, and super featherweight K-1 world champion has his home gym, Team Vasileus, in Tokyo, but Takeru often travels to California to augment his camp.
Takeru would set up camp at the famed Boxing Works stable in Lawndale, the same gym where ONE women's strawweight kickboxing world champion Jackie Buntan and former ONE atomweight kickboxing world champion Janet Todd train.
The looming super fight between Takeru and Rodtang at ONE 172 was the second time the modern-day legends were scheduled for a match after their supposed ONE 165 encounter fell through.
Rodtang had to pull out of the Jan. 24 card after suffering a hand injury in training camp. Takeru, instead, challenged Superlek Kiatmoo9 for the ONE flyweight kickboxing world title in the card's headliner.

Takeru Segawa proved he's a champion inside and outside the ring.
ONE Championship earlier announced that Takeru would donate his fight purse from his ONE 172 super fight against Rodtang to build a school in Laos.
Takeru said in ONE Championship's Instagram post:
"I have a fight against Rodtang, so I want to use that fight money to build another school in Laos."
In addition to his fighter responsibilities, Takeru also serves as the 7th Generation Tiger Mask and spearheads the foundation of the same name in donating to schools and orphanages in Japan and across Asia.
