Canelo Alvarez and Sergey Kovalev went to war in an anticipated clash on Nov. 2, 2019, for the WBO light-heavyweight title. The pair clashed on the same night as Jorge Masvidal vs. Nate Diaz at UFC 244, where they faced off for the inaugural BMF title fight.

However, the boxing clash was infamously delayed by nearly two hours, due to both events being broadcast on the same streaming platform, DAZN.

The moment of madness produced several iconic photographs of both Alvarez and Kovalev laying down on couches in their full fight kit, as they waited for Masvidal vs. Diaz to conclude.

The former light-heavyweight champion was recently interviewed by Seconds Out, where he said:

"This picture was when I layed down in the dressing room on the sofa, it was against Canelo, because we waited one and a half hours in the dressing room after we'd put on gloves already. We already started to go outside from the dressing room and some girl from [DAZN] said, 'No, no, no. Right now the UFC is live. There will be three fights, wait.' And we were like, what?! Three fights?! I was thinking all about the fight, I left my energy in the dressing room."

Canelo Alvarez would fight Jake Paul, believes Eddie Hearn

Canelo Alvarez is without a doubt one of the pound-for-pound best boxers in the world. However, leading promoter Eddie Hearn believes that he would be open to a boxing match with YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul.

Paul has taken an entry into the world of boxing, opting to face big name fighters, such as Mike Tyson, in order to build his resume.

But the American's provocations have led to him calling out Alvarez for a fight, and accusing the world champion of avoiding a fight.

During a recent interview with iFL TV, Hearn explained why he believed the Guadalajara native would be open to facing 'The Problem Child'. He said:

"In my opinion, Canelo would do it. Why wouldn't he do it? Unless the money is out of control, I'm not sure Jake fights him yet. But good luck to him... Those guys... they're thinking, 'Just in case Jake gets carried away and wants a shot at the world title, I'll fight him."
