Alaverdi Ramazanov has got a big opportunity on his hands in his next fight but he isn't getting carried away with the possibilities.

The 29-year old competitor returned to the win column last time out after suffering back-to-back defeats.

His knockout win over Alessandro Sara at ONE Friday Fights 31 set him up for what could be considered to be a title eliminator.

At ONE Friday Fights 68, the former title challenger will clash with the former ONE bantamweight kickboxing world champion.

Petchtanong Petchfergus has had to wait a long time before finally getting to return and step back inside the Circle.

Considering that the last time he competed under the ONE Championship banner, he was beating Hiroki Akimoto to become a world champion, a win here for Ramazanov would be a huge statement.

He said during the virtual press conference that he doesn't want to get ahead of himself until he has got his hand raised on June 28:

"I'm very happy that I'm fighting Petchtanong and I'm not thinking about the future. I'm only focused on my fight against him and then we'll see what happens next."

Alaverdi Ramazanov is preparing himself as best as possible

This approach from Alaverdi Ramazanov is absolutely the right mindset to come into this next fight with.

Whilst beating Petchtanong could lead to big things for him in the near future, there's a reason for that.

This fight is only so valuable for the Russian striker because it is a big challenge for him against a former champion.

A win would be an incredible moment for him but it's not going to be easy, especially against a confident and motivated opponent that has proven himself at the highest level.

Ramazanov will look to keep his focus and composure until the final bell at Lumpinee Stadium.

ONE Friday Fights 68 will air live at Asian prime time. Check your local listings for more viewing details.
