“We love each other, she knows it” - Denice Zamboanga on relationship with atomweight rival Stamp Fairtex

Following her win at ONE on Prime Video 5, Denice Zamboanga called for a fight with her friend Stamp Fairtex. Immediately provoking a reaction from Stamp and the fans, Denice has now explained how their relationship will not change because of this fight.

The No.3-ranked atomweight contender got back in the win column on Friday night with a great performance against Lin Heqin.

After earning three straight wins inside the circle, Denice Zamboanga lost back-to-back fights to Ham Seo Hee which halted her progression in the division.

After her most recent win, Zamboanga mentioned the name of her friend Stamp Fairtex in her post-fight interview with Mitch Chilson, seeing the fight as a way to earn herself a title fight with Angela Lee:

“I have interest in taking the No.1 rank, which belongs to my very close friend Stamp Fairtex. If I beat her, I can challenge the champion.”

In an interview with ONE Championship after the event, Denice Zamboanga explained how her callout doesn’t change the relationship between the two women:

“Of course [we’ll go back to being friends after the fight]. We love each other, she knows it.”

At ONE on Prime Video 5, Denice Zamboanga got back into the win column in a must-win fight for the atomweight contender.

Opening up the main card of a huge night in Manila, the Filipino fighter emerged with a split-decision win over Lin Heqin to set herself up for a huge fight in the division. After losing her last two fights to Ham Seo Hee, her win kept her place near the top of the division.

To the surprise of the fans, Zamboanga called out her close friend Stamp Fairtex after the fight.

“Denice Zamboanga has it all planned out 👸 Will Stamp Fairtex accept her challenge? @denicezamboanga”
