“We both meet in the middle” - Danial Williams not scared of a phone booth war with aggressive opponent Thongpoon

Danial Williams is expecting an all-out war with Thai star Thongpoon PK Saenchai.

After bouncing back in October with an impressive showing against Banma Duoji, 'Mini-T' will look to make it two in a row when he squares off with Thongpoon at ONE Fight Night 26 on Prime Video.

Emanating from the legendary Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok on Friday, December 6, Williams won't shy away from standing in a phone booth and trading blows until one of them hits the mat.

“I’m well aware of that, and I feel like one of us is getting put away because we both meet in the middle,” Williams told ONE Championship.

'Mini T' will look to secure his first win in the art of eight limbs under the ONE banner after coming up short in his promotional debut against 'The Iron Man' Rodtang Jitmuangnon at ONE on TNT 1 in April 2021.

While Williams is carrying some momentum into the bout, having bested Duoji in his last outing, Thongpoon will be desperately looking to return to the win column.

Thongpoon ready for anything Danial Williams throws at him at ONE Fight Night 26

Thongpoon stormed into ONE Championship, winning four of his first five, including highlight-reel knockouts against Tomorrow Kiatsongrit, Petmongkol Soonkelahuaitom, and Ellis Badr Barboza.

However, the Thai has struggled to find the win column in his last two outings, suffering unanimous decision losses against Zakaria El Jamari and Rui Botelho.

Eager to get his hand raised against a three-sport superstar like Danial Williams, Thongpoon recognizes that he will need to alter his style and come into fight night with a game plan geared toward addressing his opponent's vast experience.

"Needless to say, [Williams] has experience in all disciplines, whether it’s MMA, kickboxing, Muay Thai," Thongpoon told ONE. "He’s fast. He has kickboxing footwork. If I was fighting him with my old style, I wouldn’t have a chance. I had to change my fighting style. I’m going to try to force him into the corner and hurt him."
