Joshua Pacio isn't leaving anything up to chance ahead of the biggest fight of his career at ONE 171: Qatar on Feb. 20.

The current ONE strawweight MMA world champion already has a lot of experience when it comes to competing at the very highest level.

He also already knows a lot about his next opponent having spent multiple training camps preparing for him and plenty of rounds competing against him.

In the co-main at ONE's return to the Lusail Sports Arena in Qatar, Pacio will look to end his trilogy with Jarred Brooks when the two men unify the strawweight world titles at long last.

The reigning world champion believes his preparation will be key for this one as he leaves no stone unturned in his training camp.

Joshua Pacio detailed in a recent interview with The MMA Superfan how he will look to ensure that he is one step ahead of Brooks at all times in their third encounter:

"Of course, we need to think of a proper game plan to counter everything he will do and to prepare any possible moves he might do even if we haven't seen it from his fights."

Joshua Pacio has a lot to overcome in this fight

Along with his extensive preparations, there is a lot for Joshua Pacio to think about ahead of his long-awaited return.

'The Passion' will be making his comeback after spending the vast majority of 2024 on the sidelines due to an injury that has postponed his trilogy fight with Brooks.

In the meantime, his former foe has been active, claiming the interim title with a win over Gustavo Balart at ONE Fight Night 24.

Pacio is jumping right back in at the deep end but coming out on top with so many factors working against him is exactly what champions are made of.
