For a competitor that wants to prove himself at the highest level like Denis Puric, there is no better fight than his next assignment. The striking veteran wants to make the next few years the most memorable of his entire career by reaching new heights.

This all starts on June 7 with an opponent that he has been calling out for some time for this specific reason.

After beating Jacob Smith, Denis Puric made it very clear that he wanted to face Rodtang Jitmuangnon in order to show that he belongs at the top of the sport. 'The Bosnian Menace' believes that he can push 'The Iron Man' to the limit having been critical of some of the opposition he has faced as of late.

However, his big plans do not start and stop with competing against the flyweight Muay Thai king in a flyweight kickboxing bout at ONE 167, which emanates live from Bangkok's Impact Arena.

In a video with Coach_Kobes on YouTube, titled Road To Rodtang: Part 1, Puric spoke about his motivation coming into this fight and how he sees this as just the start of a career-defining run:

"We're going for everything, baby. We're going for the Muay Thai title, the kickboxing title, we're coming for all, baby."

Denis Puric could pull off a massive win on June 7

As is the case whenever Rodtang is set to compete, the world will be watching and that's something that Denis Puric looks to capitalize on.

His words directed at his next opponent come from a place of respect, acknowledging that 'The Iron Man' is one of the very best strikers in the world today.

But to be considered in that group also, Puric knows that this is the fight business and not the friend's business. If he wants to enter that elite group at the top of the sport, he's going to have to tread on some toes first, and that he certainly has.

ONE 167 will air live from the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand, on June 7. Active Amazon Prime Video subscribers in North America can catch the entire card live in U.S. primetime for free.
