Mike Tyson's conversation with a kid reporter has sent a number of netizens into a frenzy. The former undisputed heavyweight champion boxer's answer to a question from the child elicited mixed reactions from the combat sports community and beyond.

The 58-year-old Tyson was interviewed on Jazzy's World TV by Jazzy (real name: Jazlyn Guerra), a 14-year-old Brooklyn-born reporter and influencer. When asked what type of legacy he'd like to leave behind when it's all said and done, Tyson answered:

"Man, I don't know. I don't believe in the word legacy. I just think that's another word for ego. That's just some word everybody grabbed onto. Now it's used every five seconds. It means absolutely nothing to me. I'm just passing through, I'mma die, and then it's going to be over. Who cares about legacy after that? We're the big eagles, so I'mma die. I want people to think that I'm this, I'm great. No, we're nothing. We're just dead. We're dust. We're absolutely nothing. Our legacy is nothing."

Jazzy replied by thanking Mike Tyson and indicated that his answer was rather unconventional. Tyson then opined that apart from his children and grandchildren, others probably won't care about him after he's passed away:

"Can you really imagine somebody saying, 'I want my legacy to be this ...' You're dead. Do you think somebody really wants to think about you? I want people to think about me when I'm gone. Who the f**k cares about me when I'm gone?"

Fans soon weighed in, with many highlighting the unintentional hilarity of Mike Tyson's grim answer to the child. One X user wrote:

"Lmao this is too funny"

A commenter jestingly alluded that akin how to Tyson had mistaken Dagestani influencer Hasbulla for a child, he probably thought Jazzy was an adult and didn't refrain from a serious conversation or profanity. Another observer tweeted:

"No, he is just real."

Some jested that the ferocious vintage Tyson returned:

"We got 1988 Tyson back"

Some speculated that Tyson is in a fight mindset ahead of his professional boxing comeback against Jake Paul on Nov. 15, 2024. Others chalked his seriousness up to recreational drugs:

"Mike Tyson is in a zone, Jake Paul better watch out"

Others opined that Tyson was right, even though it might be tough for a youngster to comprehend:

"It's true, but maybe hard for a young kid to digest"

Mike Tyson previously spoke to Jazzy about not taking things too seriously

Kid reporter Jazzy, who's interviewed world-renowned celebrities like Jay-Z and Shaquille O'Neal, had interviewed 'Iron Mike' at Fanatics Fest earlier this year. She'd asked him about how he'd been convinced to don a bee costume and perform on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!'

Mike Tyson responded by stating:

"Hey, you don't take yourself serious, you know ... If I took myself too serious, I wouldn't be here with you. Life is about enjoying it before it's over."

Furthermore, Tyson offered motivational words of wisdom for the viewers. He advised that irrespective of what happens in your life -- be it getting obliterated, embarrassed, disgraced, or laughed at by the entire world -- never give up.
