In a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, American author Steven Pressfield and UFC commentator Joe Rogan discussed the idea that there may have been advanced civilizations in prehistoric times.
The conversation sprung from the latest information on the first definitive evidence of cooking by Neanderthals and early Homo sapiens. Researchers in Israel claim to have found evidence that early humans about 780,000 years ago may have used an oven-like heating chamber to cook fish. In a new paper that came out this week in the journal Nature Ecology and Evolution, they wrote about what they found at an archaeological site.
Startled by the latest findings, Rogan outlined the possibility of advanced civilization in the primeval times in episode #1901 of The Joe Rogan Experience (JRE):

"If you think of those early humans, like when did they became anatomically modern humans, was it half a million years ago, whatever it was, gives us lot of room to learn and figure things out before natural catastrophe wipes civilization back to the Stone Age again."
While chewing over how archeological discoveries continue to defy our understanding of the world today and push the envelope of our perception, Rogan stated:
"Human beings are constantly innovating and constantly improving. If there was a time in history where we achieved through some method that we don't understand, an advanced civilization....and then it all got wiped out and this is a new manifestation of human creativity and ingenuity and innovation has become this thing. But we think this is the only way. This is as good as we've ever been. We're just ignorant to the past."

Joe Rogan discusses the importance of discipline to maintain a strong and powerful mind
In the aforementioned episode of JRE, Joe Rogan claimed that the high prevalence of poor physical health and unhealthy lifestyle behaviors in individuals has a direct effect on their quality of life. Based on his personal observations, most people who are miserable are either obese, leading a sedentary lifestyle and/or are over-indulging.
Furthermore, he added that despite taking the plunge to lead a healthy lifestyle, it's easy to relapse and succumb to unhealthy habits. In his words, it's important to be disciplined in order to embrace exertion and achieve mental well-being:
"Physical activity is mental activity. You just don't think of it as that way because you're mind is forcing your body to do the work. The reality is, it's the mind that forces the body do that and you must have a strong mind in order to get that done."
