"We're just looking up" - Luke Lessei hopes to continue his ascent atop the loaded featherweight Muay Thai rankings

Fifth-ranked ONE featherweight Muay Thai competitor Luke Lessei understands the effort needed to become a perennial world title contender. He is prepared to lay everything on the line in pursuit of that goal.

'The Chef' spoke with combat sports journalist Nick Atkin after his unforgettable outing at ONE Fight Night 27 this past Friday, Jan. 10, saying:

"I know, like my division is stacked. Everybody knows the 155 division is stacked. So I just want to keep going up in the ranks. We're still at number five. I just want to keep getting highlights, keep gaining fans, keep showing everybody that I'm not just a tough guy. You know, I got a lot of different flavors that I can pull off in there. And, yeah, we're just looking up."

Lessei kicked off his 2025 campaign on a high note by spoiling the main roster debut of Road to ONE: Canada tournament winner Cody Jerome, ending his night via TKO in just two minutes.

With the Dubuque Martial Arts Group product barely breaking a sweat, Lessei declared during the post-event press conference that he looks forward to fighting again very soon.

Luke Lessei could not have asked for a better way to earn his second win under the ONE banner, but he knows he always has room to improve.

In an interview with the promotion following ONE Fight Night 27, Lessei shared:

"Yeah, I feel really happy with my performance. Of course, when I watch it back, there are always going to be little things that I want to make look better, but taking the fight in as a whole, everything went to plan. The game plan worked perfectly, and yeah, it pretty much went exactly how we expected it to go."
