Thailand will always be the hub of Muay Thai, but Freddie Haggerty believes a steady uprising is happening in the West. Haggerty, the younger brother of ONE bantamweight kickboxing world champion Jonathan Haggerty, is confident that the growing Muay Thai scene in the United Kingdom will one day match up to the pedigree of Thailand.
In an interview with the Goated Combat podcast, Haggerty observed how some of the older veterans who previously trained in Thailand have moved to United Kingdom to develop their craft further.

"Yeah, definitely. You’ve seen a lot of the older boys in Muay Thai that used to come out here and train all the time, now starting to train everyone in the UK. We're starting to get there. We're starting to get so much better."
Haggerty is part of the huge influx of British fighters who began establishing their presence in the cutthroat world of Muay Thai. Liam Harrison is often seen as one of the pioneers who led Muay Thai's popularity in the West after he collected multiple world titles in the 2000s and 2010s.
Haggerty's older brother Jonathan pushed the country to new heights when he tore through the competition in ONE Championship and had separate reigns with the ONE flyweight and bantamweight Muay Thai world titles.
As for Haggerty, the 20-year-old phenom will play his part in the British Muay Thai revolution when he takes on Jordan Estupinan in a flyweight Muay Thai matchup at the stacked ONE 170 card.
Haggerty's tussle with Estupinan, the twin brother of Johan Estupinan, goes down at Impact Arena on Friday.

Freddie Haggerty plans to go for broke against Jordan Estupinan
Freddie Haggerty is determined to maintain his perfect knockout rate in ONE Championship, and he'll throw everything but the kitchen sink at Jordan Estupinan at ONE 170.
The 20-year-old is a perfect 3-0 in his ONE Championship tenure, with all three wins coming via knockout.
In an interview with the promotion, Haggerty said he'll be an unstoppable offensive force when he gets locked inside the Circle against Estupinan.
"It's one style, and that's forward. So, if we can shut down and beat him to every shot, it's going to be a really had night for him. They'll throw anything from any stance, even off-stance. I think I can catch Jordan off-guard."
