"Racial problem?" - Fans flood Alaska Air's L.A. wildfire relief post with support for Khabib Nurmagomedov amid misplaced accusation

Khabib Nurmagomedov was deboarded by an airliner after a dispute with flight attendants over his seat in the exit row. MMA fans came down heavily on the company's social media post, expressing solidarity with the 36-year-old Russian.

The on-flight airline staff had a conversation with Nurmagomedov regarding his ability to assist other passengers if the need arose. The exchange resulted in a frustrated Nurmagomedov being deboarded.

Alaska Air was initially reported as the airline behind the incident.

As soon as the video of the incident went viral on social media, MMA fans seethed with anger. Alaska Airlines posted a relief post for the Los Angeles wildfires on Instagram, but MMA fans changed the topic in the comments.

A fan expressed their solidarity with Nurmagomedov:

"We stand with Khabib."

Another fan called for the boycott of the company:

"Boycott ! Stand with Khabib!"

Another one enquired about the possibility of a "racial problem" from the company while seeking clarification on the former UFC lightweight champion's removal:

"Why did you remove Khabib? Racial problem?"

However, Nurmagomedov later clarified in his online statement that it happened on a Frontier Airlines flight and not Alaska Air.

'The Eagle' is set to corner his cousin Umar Nurmagomedov who will take on Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 311 for the bantamweight title. The fight is going to serve as the co-main event of the pay-per-view which will be held at Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California.

The moment Khabib Nurmagomedov's video circulated on the internet, fans and fighters reacted to his deboarding. Former UFC interim welterweight champion Colby Covington also joined in and offered his two cents on the issue by questioning the UFC Hall of Famer for traveling in economy.

'The Eagle' is a popular face in the combat sports world and a successful businessman besides being a renowned former champ of the UFC. However, he still flew in the coach class at the time of the incident, to which Covington reacted by reposting the video of the incident and writing:

"Bratha why you fly the coach and the Alaska airlines bratha!?"
