Jonathan Haggerty knows that his next opponent is going to be a tough test but that doesn't mean he doesn't have flaws that can be exploited. No one is perfect and 'The General' tends to rise to the occasion when the going gets tough.

In this instance, the occasion simply doesn't get any better as Haggerty returns to headline ONE Championship's return to the United States.

He will be defending his ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world championship at ONE 168 on Sept. 6 against one of the best in the world, Superlek Kiatmoo9.

In a recent interview with The Sporting News, Haggerty referred to Superlek's impressive win over Japanese kickboxing star Takeru Segawa earlier this year.

'The Kicking Machine' had a lot of success at ONE 165 but there were moments in the fight where he was forced to overcome some adversity.

The defending champion believes that what he saw in that fight gives him confidence heading into the Ball Arena in Denver:

"We saw a lot of holes in the Takeru fight, including the body shots. We've seen him get hurt with the body shots, and that was with boxing gloves at flyweight. We've taken a lot from that."

Jonathan Haggerty can take positives and negatives from this fight

Jonathan Haggerty knows that he can hurt his next title challenger based on what he saw at ONE 165.

As the champion himself said, Superlek was hurt to the body by a smaller man at a lower weight and in kickboxing gloves and the Brit has a lot of confidence in his ability to put opponents away.

What is also worth pointing out is that whilst Takeru Segawa was able to rally in this fight, it was too little too late for the Japanese star.

The Thai striker took hold of the fight early on with his devastating leg kicks and was able to weather some difficult moments to recover and get his hand raised.
