Preparations are well underway for ‘The Sniper’ Stephen Loman’s biggest fight of his career to date. At ONE on Prime Video 4, the rising contender will face former world champion Bibiano Fernandes.

Fernandes will undoubtedly be the toughest test of Loman’s career thus far, with a huge difference in experience and competition against high-level opponents. Despite the former bantamweight king’s pedigree, Stephen Loman believes that he is well prepared for the task at hand.

The Team Lakay fighter referenced the gym's specific training camps in an interview with ONE Championship:

“Training in high altitude is good for cardio health. We do some pretty intense uphill runs here, which really helps with our stamina and conditioning. The strength of Baguio fighters is unparalleled. We are warriors of the mountains, that is our culture. So whenever we step in the circle, we come to fight. I will meet Bibiano Fernandes in the cage with all my strength.”

Loman has looked impressive in his two fights inside of the circle leading up to this contest on November 18.

The fight will see Bibiano Fernandes return to competition for the first time since losing his bantamweight world championship in devastating fashion to John ‘Hands of Stone’ Lineker.

With the bantamweight world championship now vacant, the winner of Stephen Loman vs. Bibiano Fernandes will find themselves in a great position to challenge for the title in their next fight.

Stephen Loman feels gold is within grasp if he beats Bibiano Fernandes

After an impressive start to his career in ONE Championship, ‘The Sniper’ Stephen Loman finds himself ranked as the No.5 bantamweight. In his next fight, Loman has a chance to secure a title shot when he faces former champ Bibiano Fernandes.

Stephen Loman believes that his world championship shot will be undeniable if he is successful on November 18 against Fernandes. In an interview with The MMA Superfan, Loman spoke about how a win over the former champion would align him for a fight for the vacant title:

“I feel that I deserve to be in a world title fight if I beat Bibiano. But right now, I don’t really know what they’re going to do about the world title. I think there will be a rematch between Andrade and Lineker but I should be up for a spot in the next world title match. Fighting for the belt has always been my goal.”

Bibiano Fernandes will also be hoping to get another shot at the belt, which he lost earlier this year. After being defeated by John Lineker, Fernandes will have renewed motivation to prove that he is still the best fighter in the division and hasn’t been overlapped by the younger contenders.
