Takeru vows to improve ahead of possible return to action.

Takeru Segawa just hinted that his return fight to action is on the horizon.

The Japanese kickboxing legend shared on Instagram that he's in the final stages of his training camp at Boxing Works in California and could return inside the Circle sooner rather than later.

Taking to Instagram, Takeru wrote:

"We pushed ourselves to the limit this time at the American training camp. 🇺🇸 It looks like the next match will be held overseas. We will continue to improve from here to ensure we win. I'm on fire! 🔥"

Takeru is undoubtedly one of the best kickboxers of all time, and he remains the only person to have won a world title across three divisions at K-1 Kickboxing.

His signing with ONE Championship in 2023 undoubtedly created waves in the combat sports world, and the community waited in bated breath on who would welcome 'The Natural Born Crusher' to the promotion.

Superlek answered that question when he defended his ONE flyweight kickboxing world title against Takeru in the main event of ONE 165 in Tokyo this past January.

Despite Takeru's hometown advantage and inspiring effort in the third round, Superlek had an answer for nearly everything and retained his gold via unanimous decision.

Takeru also suffered multiple muscle tears in his left leg after his match against Superlek, injuries that have seemed to recover ahead of the Japanese megastar's impending return.

Superlek wants super clash between Rodtang Jitmuangnon and Takeru Segawa

There are no official announcements yet, but fans have been clamoring for a super fight against ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon and Japanese megastar Takeru Segawa.

Even Superlek Kiatmoo9 wants it.

Rodtang was supposed to be Takeru's original opponent at ONE 165, but 'The Iron Man' had to pull out of the card after suffering an injured left hand in training.

In an interview with Sportskeeda MMA, Superlek said a matchup between Takeru Segawa and Rodtang would be a must-watch for any fight fan.

Superlek even said he'll be at the stands not as a fighter but as a fan.

"It'll be a very fun fight. If they fight wherever, I would be at that stadium. I think they have very similar styles and it would be a really fun and exciting fight. I'd really love to see it."
