William Gomis and Joanderson Brito got a little heated at the ceremonial weigh-ins and fans are discussing this altercation before their UFC Paris fight.
It was a handshake gone awry initially with some of the parties present on stage separating the two combatants. It seemed like the two men were going to be calm enough to resume the faceoff after Brito's initially aggressive handshake but this was not to be.
The Brazilian mixed martial artist would then grab Gomis' arm with a certain assertiveness that had those on stage break them up for good. X users rushed to offer up their thoughts on the altercation and a sizable tweet thread built up thereafter.

William Gomis' return to the cage after a year away
William Gomis is presumably relieved to be in this situation overall, outside of the brief altercation at the ceremonial weigh-ins.
His return comes after being on the sidelines for a bit over one year as Gomis' last fight was on September 2 of last year.
In that outing, 'Jaguar' bested Yanis Ghemmouri with a body kick in the third round at UFC Fight Night: Gane vs. Spivac. That Ghemmouri victory transpired in Paris and Gomis will no doubt feel the partisan support here as he returns to ply his trade on home soil.
The 27-year-old had a pair of bouts fall out on him in the last year that kept him out of action. Gomis was initially targeted to fight in February against Melsik Baghdasaryan but the former would end up withdrawing from the contest.
The native of France then had a contest lined up for UFC 301 with Gomis again having to withdraw. This time, the withdrawal stemmed form complications in cutting weight for this mapped out MMA bout in May.
Jean Silva would end up losing him as an opponent after a swell of public discourse erupted surrounding how compromised Gomis looked at the weigh-ins for their Rio De Janeiro-based fight.
The weigh-in processes this time seemed far smoother comparatively and it seems like William Gomis is locked in for his first UFC bout of 2024 as he looks to extend his winning streak to twelve straight this weekend.
