Fans reacted to Joe Rogan's initial reaction to Dricus du Plessis submitting Israel Adesanya for the UFC middleweight title.

On Saturday night, UFC 305 ended with a heated rivalry between du Plessis and Adesanya. In the first two rounds, 'Stillknocks' successfully implemented his game plan. However, 'The Last Stylebender' started turning the tide before everything changed in Round 4.

Du Plessis overwhelmed Adesanya with pressure and locked in a rear-naked choke to retain his middleweight throne. Most people were shocked by the result, as Adesanya was building momentum and seemed to be taking over the fight.

Rogan was doing a live fight companion with several of his friends. Here is his initial reaction to du Plessis submitting Adesanya:

"Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god, he hurt him, dude. Oh no, oh my god. Oh my god, Dricus is a f*cking animal, dude. He's a f*cking animal, holy sh*t. I was saying, those punches, even though he's exhausted, you can't be in those exchanges, you're gonna get clipped. If you get clipped, you're in real trouble. F*ck, he got hit with those big right hands, man."

Rogan's reaction was posted on X, leading to the following fans claiming he was being biased towards Adesanya:

"Well that’s proof of his bias when he’s commentated Izzy fights"
"Joe still in debt to Izzy for bailing him out from his 2023 controversies"
"we all relating to joe rn"
"Everyone has their favorites. Nothing more, nothing less."

What's next for Dricus du Plessis and Israel Adesanya following UFC 305?

Earlier this week, Dana White sat down for an interview with Jim Rome and claimed Sean Strickland would fight the winner of Dricus du Plessis vs. Israel Adesanya. Meanwhile, Robert Whittaker and Khamzat Chimaev are scheduled to fight on Oct. 26, which could change the middleweight title picture.

It should be noted that light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira also voiced his interest in moving back down to middleweight to fight du Plessis.

As for Adesanya, he suffered his second consecutive loss for the first time in his MMA career. Following UFC 305, 'The Last Stylebender' confirmed he won't be retiring and plans to make his way back to the middleweight title. It's unclear what's next for Adesanya, but he's expected to fight a top contender in early 2025.
