How did Alexander Pisarev pass away?

Alexander Pisarev, aged 33, reportedly passed away after consuming a poisoned watermelon. According to reports, Pisarev – who lives with his wife and son – was found unresponsive in his Moscow apartment by his father, Igor Vladimirovich.

Vladimirovich said that he found his son unconscious in his apartment after returning from walking their dog on Sunday, October 30.

The Russian fighter reportedly consumed the poisoned fruit with his wife, and both of them were rushed to the hospital. However, only Pisarev's wife survived and is currently hospitalized.

According to an unnamed teammate of Pisarev's at Team Tomahawk, the Russian fighter died in his sleep and had no chronic health issues. The source from the team said that the death was "a result of food poisoning" according to "preliminary data."

The team's statement on Russian social media platform VKontakte read:

"My brother, my friend, my student! Words cannot express the extent of the loss. Alexander Pisarev is the standard of friendship, decency and courage of a Russian person. I and we will miss you!!! Rest in peace our brother."

An investigation is currently underway in Balashikha, which is approximately 20 kilometers from Moscow. While many reports claim that the Russian fighter died from food poisoning, others have suggested that his death was a result of opioid poisoning.
