What is the Andrew Tate - Lil Nas X controversy? Here's the Twitter conversation explained

American musical artist Lil Nas X has clapped back at a fan for attempting to compare him to controversial internet celebrity Andrew Tate.

A Twitter user by the name of David Morgan recently took to the social media platform to support Andrew Tate. In an attempt to do so, Morgan compared him to Lil Nas X while seemingly throwing shade at the American music artist for one of his music videos:

"On the left, we have "Lil Nas X" twerking on Satan. On the right, we have Andrew Tate, who teaches young people to think critically, to take care of their physical health and build financial security. Guess which one is deemed controversial and which is hailed as a role model."

Lil Nas X was quick to fire back. Suggesting that people need to find themselves and stop looking for people to look up to, the Grammy-winning artist tweeted:

"1. that is a cgi animated being not satan from the bible book. 2. there’s no such thing as a good role model, y’all need to find yourselves and stop looking for people to look up to"

Andrew Tate denied bail, remains in Romanian jail

Andrew Tate is no stranger to controversy. While his polarizing opinions seemingly got him banned from most major social media platforms, the former kickboxer was arrested after criminal allegations were filed against him and his brother, Tristan Tate, last year.

The Tate brothers were arrested in Romania back in December 2022. While they were originally detained for 24 hours, the authorities were quick to extend their detention to 30 days. The authorities have extended their detention twice since then and the Tates are still in jail.

They were arrested over allegations of sexual assault, exploitation, organized crime and human trafficking. It is worth noting that 'Cobra' and his brother have maintained their innocence against these charges.
