“What a champion should do” - Tang Kai says it’s his responsibility as featherweight MMA king to continue evolving

Tang Kai owes his massive success to his loyal fans, who have been with him through thick and thin.

As such, the undisputed ONE featherweight MMA world champion thinks he'll be doing those who believe in him a disservice if he rests on his laurels.

Tang, who boasts a perfect 8-0 record in the home of martial arts, already has an incredible MMA resume at just 28 years old.

Still, the Chinese warrior is on an endless pursuit of greatness and won't let his status as one of the best 155-pound fighters on the planet get to his head.

As far as the Sunkin International Fight Club affiliate is concerned, owning 26 pounds of gold is further motivation to continue his growth as a martial artist. He said in a recent ONE Championship interview:

"I have known my opponents will be stronger and stronger since the day I got the belt, and I am improving myself every day, too. It is what a champion should do.”

Tang Kai will face another formidable adversary in the main event of ONE Fight Night 27, where he'll face undefeated headhunter Akbar Abdullaev. 'Bakal' has decimated everyone in his wake so far, with all of his 11 career victories coming by stoppages.
