Recently, Pereira visited a cancer hospital in collaboration with a non-profit organization 'Challenge,' which supports children with cancer and their families. The Brazilian fighter interacted with the children and elevated their spirits. Glimpses of Pereira's visit were posted on the organization's and his own Instagram account.
One of the photos was captioned with a heartbreaking story of a young martial arts practitioner. The caption read:
"We Have Moments of Joy and Sadness. This moment was very difficult for me. I visited the cancer hospital. This boy was training in Muay Thai and was unable to continue due to cancer."

Alex Pereira achieved the rare accomplishment of becoming a two-division champion when he defeated Jiri Prochazka to capture the light heavyweight title at UFC 295. He successfully defended the belt against Jamahal Hill at UFC 300, becoming the first fighter to defend the light heavyweight title against a ranked contender since February 2020.
