Jon Jones is widely considered the greatest mixed martial artist of all time. UFC CEO Dana White has made his stance on the debate clear, also noting that he believes the heavyweight champion should sit atop the pound-for-pound rankings. The promotional frontman recently tagged 'Bones' in a post on Instagram before eventually responding to fans in the comments.
Championship Rounds captured a screenshot of White's comments, tweeting:
"Dana White tagged Jon Jones under a random IG post and responded to the fans in the replies 😭😭 "This word 'Glaze' just popped up outta nowhere like everyone says 'Wild' now. All this Glaze talk is WILD." #UFC #MMA"

"What a love story ❤️"
@TheMMALabs claimed that White is constantly thinking about Jones:
"Ahahha somehow, dana is dreaming and thinking about Jon jones every day, every hour 🤣"
@funnyhunnids respects how the promotional frontman is handling the joke:
"Nah I actually respect that he’s just running with the joke at this point"
@MAZDHARMMA suggested that fans are not interested in seeing Jones face Stipe Miocic:
"Its hilarious watching Dana hype up Jones because nobody cares about him fighting a 50 years old retired guy"
@nufcne10 questioned if the two have the same drug dealer:
"Do they have the same coke dealer or something?"

Jon Jones defends Stipe Miocic matchup ahead of rumored UFC 309 clash
Jon Jones is reportedly set to face Stipe Miocic at UFC 309 in November. It will mark his first bout since defeating Ciryl Gane via first-round submission at UFC 285 last March to capture the vacant heavyweight title. 'Bones' defended the matchup following criticism that 'The Silencer' is not deserving of the opportunity:
"Man, I appreciate the boss and the comments he made at last nights press conference. Sounds like I have some massive options on the table, an athletes dream . Right now I need to get back to focusing on the task at hand. Despite what some of the casuals think, Stipe is really no joke. It’s crazy that we live in a world where you can go from the best heavyweight ever to washed up after a bad performance."
He added:
"The reality is Francis would’ve knocked out 98% of people on the planet that night, but somehow Stipe is washed up? Stipe not competing in so long tells me that he’s had plenty of time to heal and rebuild. Let me get back to focusing on the actual task at hand, that’s what got me this far. My focus, I do what others can’t."

Jones and Miocic had been set to clash at UFC 295 last November, however, the former was forced to withdraw due to injury. The injury opened the door for Tom Aspinall to capture the interim heavyweight title, which he has since defended. It is unclear if 'Bones' will stick with his original plan of retiring after defending his title or if he will delay those plans to face the interim champion.
